Torch Packaging and Carton Specs: Export Checklist
Packaging is the part of a torch order that touches every hand between the factory and the shelf - and the part importers specify last, then regret first. This checklist walks the four levels of torch packaging, from retail box to container, and separates the decisions you make from the numbers that can only be fixed on a final packing specification. It also flags the compliance layer most buyers miss: lighter-type goods move under dangerous-goods packaging rules. Ground rule first: torches ship as bodies and accessories only - no fuel canisters are packed in any carton; end users purchase fuel locally per local regulations.

A packing specification is a chain of dependencies: the model's body size drives the retail box, the retail box drives the inner carton, the inner carton drives the master carton, and the master carton drives the container plan. Fix the chain early and freight quotes become accurate; leave it loose and you will be negotiating carton changes after production should have started.
The inputs: what the product itself fixes
The first link in the chain is the product. These body dimensions and weights from the ZHENTANZHE line are the starting point for any packing plan:

Body figures are rated product dimensions from the specification sheet. Box, carton and pallet figures depend on your retail design and market rules - fixed on the final packing specification per model and per order.

Carton dimensions, unit counts and gross weights are deliberately left to the packing specification: they change with model, retail design and market rules, and quoting them before those inputs are fixed would mislead your freight budget.
Why packaging is a compliance item, not a print job
Two reasons. First, the regulatory one: lighter-type goods exported from China move under an inspection regime that includes dangerous-goods packaging of the required class and a packaging use appraisal - the same regime that brings type testing and routine inspection. A carton substitution made to shave cost can stall a shipment at port. Second, the commercial one: torches are pressurized-fuel devices even without a canister attached, and every handoff from the packing line to the shelf treats them roughly. Packaging that survives the lane protects your damage rate; packaging that merely looks good in a sample photo does not.
The retail box brief
- Model marking: model number and variant on every face your channel scans or shelves.
- Warning text and manual language: safety wording must match the manual's language set - a customization item on OEM orders; translations must be complete, not abbreviated.
- Format: hanging vs standing; long-reach models need the hook strength more than the print area.
- Proof before mass production: approve a physical printed proof, not a screen PDF, especially for color-matched brand work.

Can the factory print our brand on the retail boxes?
Yes. Packaging design is one of the standard customization items on ZHENTANZHE OEM and ODM orders, alongside logo, colors, manual languages and canister-interface adaptation. Provide print-ready artwork or brief the design from your brand assets, then approve a printed proof before mass production.
Do export cartons for gas torches need special packaging?
Yes - this is a compliance item, not a print job. Lighter-type goods shipped from China must use dangerous-goods packaging of the required class with the corresponding use appraisal as part of the export regime. Your freight forwarder confirms the document set for your lane; never substitute ordinary cartons to save cost.
What information should I give the factory for a packing plan?
Model and variant, order quantity, destination market, retail-box preference (material and finish), any marking requirements, and whether your retail channel imposes case or label rules. With these, the factory issues a packing specification with carton dimensions, unit counts and gross weights for approval before production.
Where do carton dimensions and weights come from?
From the packing specification issued per model and per order. They depend on the model's body dimensions, the retail box design, the inner-carton arrangement and your destination's handling rules - so treat any figure quoted before those inputs are fixed as preliminary. Always approve the final packing sheet in writing.
Do torches ship with fuel canisters inside?
No. The factory supplies torch bodies and accessories only; no fuel canisters are included in any carton. End users purchase fuel locally according to their local regulations, in the canister format the tool's manual specifies.
