Gas Canister Valve Types: EU Standard and Adapters
The valve - not the brand of canister - decides whether a torch connects, seals and feeds correctly. ZHENTANZHE torches are built around the European-style self-sealing valve used by standard butane and high-altitude canisters; long canisters and gas-tank cylinders speak different valve languages. This guide shows how to identify each valve type on sight, which of them connect directly, and where the adapter rules are absolute. The short answer
Standard butane cartridges and high-altitude blends with the European-style self-sealing valve connect directly to every GF-series torch. Long canisters and gas-tank cylinders connect directly only to the ZTZ-8020 burner, through its 600 mm separate hose; the torches take them only with the adapter specified for the model. Any other regional valve format: the specified adapter or nothing - never improvise a connection.

"Direct fit" means the canister is a listed fuel in the model's manual. Adapters must be the ones specified by the manufacturer for that model - never improvised. Operating envelope for the line: -30°C to 30°C.
How to identify the valve before buying fuel
Three checks, thirty seconds. First the collar: the European-style valve shows a wide rim with a central sealing pad, which the torch's locking ring presses over - a puncture-style or screw-thread fitting looks visibly different. Second the body: standard cartridges are short and wide; long canisters are narrow and tall with an extended valve stem; gas-tank cylinders carry an external screw thread for a hose. Third the label: high-altitude blends state the cold or altitude use on the canister while keeping the same valve format. When in doubt, stop - compare the canister against the fuel page of the manual before any connection is attempted.
Why the European-style interface is the default
The European-style self-sealing valve is the dominant cartridge format across many markets, which is why the GF-series is built around it: your customers find fuel in ordinary retail, without adapters or scavenger hunts. Markets do differ, though - so canister-interface area adaptation is a standard customization item on ZHENTANZHE OEM and ODM orders, alongside logo, colors, packaging and manual languages. Distributors who check this before the first order avoid the most common field complaint in the category: a tool that cannot find its fuel.
The adapter rules
Adapters are not generic fittings. The valve, orifice and seal of a torch are engineered as one system for the fuels the manual lists; a mismatched connection can leak, feed at the wrong pressure or damage the seal. Use only the adapter specified by the manufacturer for that model, follow its instructions, and never modify the valve or the seal. If the canister does not match and no specified adapter exists, the answer is a different canister - not a workaround.
What the ZTZ-8020 hose changes
The Five-Star Burner 8020 feeds through a 600 mm separate hose, which changes what it can run on: long canisters and gas-tank cylinders connect directly, putting bulk fuel at base camp while the flame burns at a distance from the supply. Its pure copper control valve sets the output - counterclockwise for more flame, clockwise for less, press-lock for off. The same safety logic applies in reverse: the hose is the specified connection, so the torches in the line still need their model-specified adapter for these formats.
